It's really amazing how happy I've become over the past month. My life isn't any easier and I'm not making more money, but I have a true sense of joy in my work now that I have not had for almost 2 years. Don't get me wrong I STILL love web design and playing around with my site when I'm in the mood it's just that the actual corporate environment was not beneficial to me any more. I was at a stage in my career where I was just not getting any joy out of being creative anymore. Partly because I was not being allowed to be creative anymore and partly because I was not happy in my situation at work. Just taking the HUGE gamble to break away and try something new has really had a big impact on my self esteem and feelings of self worth. I had been in such a dark tunnel deprived of day light for more than a year and it was really taking a tool on my physically as well as mentally. I had gained at least 15 pounds over the past 3 years and that added to my self hate A LOT. The daily therapy that I receive just being with the animals at work has made such a difference in my life. I am a firm believer in the "healing" powers that animals have over humans. I see daily the unconditional love they give to their owners in return for a dry warm place to sleep and 2 meals a day. I've even felt and seen a change in my relationship with Gianni in the 2 weeks that we have had Benelli. We have definitely taken on the role of Mom and Dad. I feel so happy and content when Benelli comes up to me and rubs his face against mine or when he makes kitty biscuits on my arm when I'm in bed. Such unconditional love is hard to come by and is such an important part of all our well beings. I can easily see how beneficial it is for the elderly and the sick to be lucky enough to be visited by a "therapy" animal while in a nursing home or hospital. I have a friend who's beautiful chocolate lab would make a wonderful therapy dog. It really is amazing to see our relationship with animals. They depend on us for food and love and we depend on them for so much more.

This is a good one I recently received from my Uncle. Q: What's the difference between the Dallas Cowboys & the Taliban? Q: What do the Dallas Cowboys & Billy Graham have in common? Q: How do you keep a Dallas Cowboy player out of your yard? Q: Where do you go in Dallas in case of a tornado? Q: Why doesn't Ft Worth have a professional football team? Q: Why was Dave Campo upset when the Cowboys playbook was stolen? Q: What's the difference between the Dallas Cowboys and a dollar bill? Q: What do you call 47 people sitting around a TV watching the Super Bowl? Q: What do the Dallas Cowboys and possums have in common?

Good Lord!!!! I'm FINALLY back on line after having gone without email and blogging for almost 3 weeks now. I had almost 80 emails in my inbox and my Yahoo account had almost 60. Unfortunately a lot of it was junk mail. Oh well, such is life. We are finally settling into our new place. We took a load of empty boxes over to storage today and now were working on the last finishing touches to our entertainment center. I'm amazed that Gianni didn't have our surround sound hooked up as soon as we unloaded the boxes off of the moving van, but he didn't and we're just now getting the speakers in their proper places. Life at the Vet is pretty cool. I'm amazed some days by how much I'm learning.
